The Pediatric Surgery Division specializes in the comprehensive surgical care of infants and children. It is one of the few specialties recognized by the American Board of Surgery requiring further fellowship training after general surgery residency. Because of this requirement, all pediatric general surgeons maintain additional board certification and proficiency necessary to care for patients ranging from very low birth weight, premature babies to growing adolescents.
The Division of Pediatric Surgery specializes in the treatment of common and uncommon pediatric surgical conditions including:
Newborn anomalies of the airway, gastrointestinal tract, and genito-urinary system
